Personality:
TROUBLED
Junior, first and foremost, is an intensely troubled boy. His upbringing and disconnect from society at large has left him with a great number of questions about himself and the world around him. And, unfortunately, the way that he's been raised discourages him from voicing these questions. Underneath a calm and melancholy exterior lies a boy full of confusion, anger, and distrust. He's never known the kindness of a mother, the pride of a father, or the encouragement of friends. These things he sees on a day-to-day basis, and resentment grows that he has been disallowed these things. In his desperation for acknowledgement and affection, Junior grows evermore dysfunctional, his inward hatred bottled and lacking an appropriate outlet.
SOCIALLY INEPT
The unfortunate thing about being kept away from your peers and aged at an accelerated for science to be turned into an effective super soldier is that it doesn't do very much for your people skills. Logically, Junior knows a lot about the concept of things without having any practical experience in them. Seeing people behave in consideration toward one another, and toward him, inspires confusion and shellshock. His conversations are often muted and lacking in content, as he sees no need to embellish the things he says, or speak when not spoken to. When not given a work task, he doesn't know what to do with himself, and thereby freezes when presented with simple ideas, such as acting like a child his own age, or having a party. Occasionally, he tries to emulate common social practices, but grows frustrated and despondent when he falls short. For all the capacity Junior has to learn new material, he lacks the patience for his own failures.
LONELY
Perhaps most importantly of all, Junior is gripped by a powerful loneliness. He's been isolated throughout his life, for his most vital years, interacting with others rarely in any capacity that isn't part of a mission. The individuals who stole him from his real mother to raise him have kept a wide emotional distance from him, never allowing the boy to consider them parents despite his own feelings. Attempts at getting to know the people around him are awkward at best, and this overall detachment from others has made him into the ruthless agent that he is. His despair at being the only one like himself that he has ever known has, in fact, gotten to the point that even the smallest of kind gestures become deeply meaningful to him. He breaks his given orders twice for no reason other than being spoken to like a human being over a machine.
VIOLENT
Despite his gentle appearance, respectful outward demeanor, and timid manner of speech, Junior has lived the better part of his life as an assassin and spy. He's quick to draw his gun and won't hesitate to shoot before asking questions, and when push comes to shove, he'll always take the path of most resistance. Combining his physically trained (and supernatural) abilities with a severely maladjusted psyche, and you have a dangerous recipe. When Junior reaches his breaking point, when he feels trapped or backed into a corner, his immediate recourse is to fight, break, and destroy. He's mutilated himself out of a sense of betrayal, and later in the series nearly executes his own mother out of panic.
POLITE
It's hard to call Junior charming, exactly, when he has such an air of solitary strangeness about him, but it can't be said that he doesn't have an outwardly pleasant demeanor. He was raised by his guardians to be respectful to those around him, so even in times of distress it's exceedingly rare he ever breaks that character. When Junior has nothing good to say, he'll simply side toward not saying anything at all. Tactful, soft-spoken, and mild-mannered, the boy could be seen as an exemplary example of a child "better seen and not heard." This, of course, only perpetuates the ghostlike qualities he embodies.
Suitability: Having been raised as a child soldier, existing (unknowingly) to be used as puppet by British Megalomaniac, Junior is a boy of action. He's capable of gathering intelligence, and as he hasn't reached a point in canon where he understands what fate ultimately has in store for him, he'd want to return at all costs. To do this, he'd feel the best way would be to help the ADI with its proposed mission. It's easy for him to fall in line and do what's assigned to him, so he'll naturally align himself with the organization and do what needs doing. That said, he's also very likely to succumb to the pull of his entity, the way he's so used to behaving.
Powers/Abilities: Junior inherited from his mother the ability to phase his body. He can do this through any material, organic or inorganic, and it's never shown that there's any particular limit to how "deeply" he can phase. For example, it's shown that he can phase through the wall of a canyon just as easily as the wall of a building. Aside from this, he's been genetically enhanced from infancy, and while it can't necessarily be considered superhuman, his body is impressively strong for his apparent age, and he is skilled in different areas of combat. Hand-to-hand isn't his specialty, but he's just strong enough to wrestle his way out of necessary situations. He learns quickly, and is a great shot with firearms, both from long and close range.
Entity Affinity: The lonely - a power which he both inherently embodies and deeply despises. Not only has he lived his life in extreme isolation from others (predominantly emotionally), but has always understood himself to be something wholly separate from everyone around him. Sometimes, he hardly feels human at all. Adding to this, his power of phasing literally allows him to move around like a ghost, passing through people and objects at will. Although this isn't a perfect mimic of the sort of invisibility The Lonely is known for, it's a close second, and often makes him feel as if he's hardly a part of the same physical reality as those around him. He relies far, far too much on his power for his own good, using it to escape the situations he feels he has no control over.
